Romney is in

Romney announced for the presidency today in Dearborn.

No one invited me. Might have to issue an Action Alert.

Mitt Romney comes home to kick off ‘08 presidential campaign

Michigan will play a central roll in the start of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, beginning today with a speech before the Detroit Economic Club and leading to a formal announcement of his candidacy in Dearborn next week.

Romney, son of late Michigan Gov. George Romney, is expected to kick off his campaign Tuesday in Dearborn, where he’ll highlight his plans to boost the nation’s manufacturing economy.

I think it was a brilliant move for Romney to announce here. It reminds the voters in a crucial swing state of his roots. Massachusetts will never vote for him anyway. He’s not insane enough.

Romney is right there on most issues. I like the guy, but I’m not sure if I like him as a presidential candidate. We’ll see. It’ll be interesting to see where he falls in the battle between Rudy and McSquishy.

Allah says he’s the man to beat.

Amanda Marcotte needs a new job

Posted by mesa in Texas on February 13, 2007

Gone. For good this time.

From Michelle Malkin:

“Blogmaster” Amanda Marcotte has resigned from the Edwards’ campaign (the site is currently down). Of course, it’s all the right wing’s and Catholic activists’ fault (a blame-avoidance strategy I highlighted on The O’Reilly Factor tonight before news of Marcotte’s resignation broke). Writes Marcotte this evening:

I was hired by the Edwards campaign for the skills and talents I bring to the table, and my willingness to work hard for what’s right. Unfortunately, Bill Donohue and his calvacade of right wing shills don’t respect that a mere woman like me could be hired for my skills, and pretended that John Edwards had to be held accountable for some of my personal, non-mainstream views on religious influence on politics (I’m anti-theocracy, for those who were keeping track). Bill Donohue—anti-Semite, right wing lackey whose entire job is to create non-controversies in order to derail liberal politics—has been running a scorched earth campaign to get me fired for my personal beliefs and my writings on this blog.

In fact, he’s made no bones about the fact that his intent is to “silence” me, as if he—a perfect stranger—should have a right to curtail my freedom of speech. Why? Because I’m a woman? Because I’m pro-choice? Because I’m not religious? All of the above, it seems.

Boo freaking hoo.

Don’t bother to concern yourself with the fact that you were fired for things. that. you. wrote. No one forced you to write hate filled screeds day after day, month after month.

It’s always someone elses fault in moonbat land.

There’s always that job at Starbucks.
