Violent moonbats attack #4,235

Peace loving pacifists out number and violently attack a Canadian soldier who just returned from Afghanistan.

Soldier calls nasty bar beating a ’sneak attack’

A soldier honoured for his military valour in Afghanistan is wondering why strangers beat him up in his hometown bar this past weekend.

“This wasn’t two guys on the ice dropping gloves and going, ‘OK, let’s go’,” Master Cpl. Collin Fitzgerald told CTV Ottawa on Tuesday.

“This was an attack — a sneak attack. To blindside a guy … and hit him with an object, there’s something wrong.”

He says he’d been in the bar only about 20 minutes late Friday, visiting with a childhood friend who introduced him to people as a war hero, when he was suddenly struck from behind with some type of object. Four men jumped him and began beating on him.

“They were saying ‘What kind of hero are you now?’,” Fitzgerald’s mother Arlene told CTV News.

The weapons instructor at CFB Trenton had his foot broken in three places and needed 10 stitches to close a cut above his right eye. Fitzgerald, 27, also suffered a broken nose and two black eyes in the Friday night attack.

Scumbags. Here’s the kind of person Fitzgerald is:

Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean recognized Fitzgerald in a Feb. 19 ceremony for braving enemy fire in Afghanistan.

He served eight months there. He was one of the first recipients of the Canadian Medal of Military Valour, “for outstanding selfless and valiant actions” carried out on May 24, 2006, during an enemy ambush “involving intense, accurate enemy fire.”

According to the military, Fitzgerald “repeatedly exposed himself to enemy fire by entering and re-entering a burning platoon vehicle and successfully driving it off the roadway, permitting the remaining vehicles trapped in the enemy zone to break free.”

A hero.

I hope the cowardly wastes of skin who attacked him from behind have their story told at whatever prison they end up in.

Criminals certainly are not the most pleasant of people and they certainly understand justice.

Prison justice.

Deep fried bacon cheese and beer dog

Posted by mesa in Texas on March 14, 2007

Yum.

This looks awesome. I’m gonna have to try this out on some of my friends/victims during the NCAA tournament.

BACON, CHEESE AND BEER DOG

Ingredients:
1 hot dog
1 slice of thick-cut bacon
1 can of spray cheese
1 can beer (It doesn’t matter what kind, but we recommend something dark. Corona probably isn’t a good idea)
1 cup flour
Oil for frying

This one is a little work-intensive, so be ready to buckle down. First take the center out of the hot dog with an apple corer, if you have access to one. If not, just cut out the middle with a knife.

Fill the cavity with the spray cheese and use the hot dog you removed from the middle as a cap to keep the cheese in.

Wrap the bacon around the hot dog.

Deep-fry for two to four minutes or until bacon is cooked.

Dab them dry with a paper towel (so the batter will stick). Mix the beer with the flour until it reaches a thick, but lump-free consistency. Dip the dogs in the batter, coating the dog completely.

Deep-fry on high heat for two to three minutes or until brown and deadly.
NOTE: Don’t fry them too long or all of the cheese will explode out into the oil.

That’s very bad.

Mmmmmm. Mmm.

Do try this at home.

Very important update: Geoff made the excellent suggestion of adding eggs to the dog. Never one to disregard such inspired culinary advice, I give you the Hamdog!

Ok, there’s a bit more than just eggs added. But, it looks awesome.

National Elephant Day!

Posted by mesa in Texas on March 14, 2007

Just in case you forgot. Today is National Elephant Day!

To honor this most gentle, yet powerful, of animals the National Thai Elephant Day is being hosted at the Maesa Elephant Camp (10kms along the Mae RimSamoeng Road) on 13th March. Admission to the Camp (from 12 noon onwards) is FREE so this will be a day for Thais, and visitors to meet and fall in love (again!) with that most noble of creatures the Elephant.

It’s free!

Ok, so it was yesterday. Sue me.

Plan ahead for next year.

Did I mention that it’s free?
