I remember watching the later show that was on nickelodean in the 80’s, parts of his passion rubbed off on me, and the fact that we had stuff like this when we were kids was a blessing. It’s a shame that a man who was a part of science, but most importantly was a teacher, and advocate of anything educational is gone. He will be missed, at least by me.
Edit: required inclusion. If there aren’t science dorks, if there aren’t space dorks, if their aren’t engineering dorks, then, thats fine, all you other dorks can sneer as you please, but there won’t be any Flying EFFING CARS!
The bi-continent Weasel has a cool post up about his twenty year journey to semi-enlightenment on teh Intertubes and it’s precursors.
Seriously, S. Weasel has one of the coolest looking blogs out there where you can learn about cool things like Mr. Brain’s Faggots and Omellete ‘N’ Chips.
It’s a goofy show, half of these so-called “chefs” can barely cook, but I love Gordon Ramsay. He’s a chef’s chef. I’ve eaten at his eponymously named restaurant and it was excellent. For a kinder, gentler Gordon Ramsay, be sure to check out his other show Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares on BBC America where he helps restaurants on the brink of oblivion find their way back. Sometimes to great success, other times — not so much.
