PC madness — no US flags allowed in school on 9/11

Posted by mesablue on September 12, 2007

A student at a North Carolina high school wanted to wear a shirt with a US flag on 9/11. Good for her. Just one problem — the school wouldn’t let her.

Flag Ban At High School Lifted

SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. – Officials at Hobbton High School have lifted their previous ban on flags.

After the numerous reactions recieved Superintendent Dr. L. Stewart Hobbs, Jr. tells NBC17 they have lifted the ban on all flags and “from this point on, all dress code chages will be made at the school board level.”

On the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, students at one high school were not allowed to wear clothes with an American flag.

Under a new school rule, students at Hobbton High School are not allowed to wear items with flags, from any country, including the United States.

The new rule stems from a controversy over students wearing shirts bearing flags of other countries.

Gayle Langston said her daughter, Jessica, was told to remove her Stars and Stripes t-shirt.

“Today she wanted to wear her shirt, and I had to tell her no,” said Langston. “She didn’t like it at all because I knew it would get her in trouble. Of all days, 9/11, she could not wear her American Flag shirt.”

The superintendent of schools in Sampson County calls the situation unfortunate, but says educators didn’t want to be forced to pick and choose which flags should be permissible.

Emphasis mine.

Mind numbing.

The passion of the moonbat

Posted by mesablue on September 12, 2007

The next time you are trying to fathom the rantings of the “progressive” left, keep this video in mind. There is nothing you can do to understand this level of looniness.

One little moonbat was a tad bit upset about the treatment Britney received after her VMA performance.

How do I know it’s a moonbat? They act exactly the same way whenever they lose an election.

Btw, this is a dude.

Not safe for work for some language at the beginning and the bizarre looks you will get from anyone within earshot.

Those wacky moonbats…

They never fail to entertain.

Vegan teacher to skip school

An art teacher removed from the classroom for encouraging pupils not to eat meat vowed Monday not to return to Fox River Grove Middle School until it eliminates milk and all other animal products from the lunch menu.

Dave Warwak, 44, also said he plans to ask the McHenry County state’s attorney to file child-endangerment charges against the school district because the school continues to promote milk and other animal products as part of a healthy diet.

Warwak said he was not fired or suspended during a meeting Monday with school officials and representatives of Fox River Grove District 3. But he said he is not returning to class.

Of particular concern to him, he said, are posters in the school cafeteria that promote milk. While vegetarians stay away from meat, vegans such as Warwak shun all animal products.

“I can’t really see working there as long as those milk posters are up and they keep feeding poison to the kids,” said Warwak of Williams Bay, Wis., who said he began his vegan lifestyle in January.
