If you like catty Movie Critics

Posted by Wickedpinto on December 30, 2010

This is actually kinda fun to read, but like all criticisms, it’s like all of the blogs you ever read. Some facts, but mostly the opinion of the self righteous jackhole doing the typing.

But he included this quote.

STEVE MARTIN: He seems fundamentally averse to acting.

Granted, he most focuses on comedy, but did the writer ever see “A Simple Twist of Fate?” There is lightheartedness in that movie, but it’s mostly passion, and he didn’t just do a phenomenal job of his acting in that movie, he was also the chief writer (I think he has a screenplay credit, meaning he wrote the movie in general.) and it’s a great movie, and a great performance.

Not saying that Steve Martin isn’t seemingly more comfortable in his LA satirical rolls in comedy, but “A Simple Twist of Fate” is a VERY VERY good movie.

The Critic isn’t all catty, just mostly, and sometimes even manages to hedge his bets, so that it’s neither pounding or praise, but the article focuses on the negative.

Pipe Dreams are swimming in the hardcore’s heads. I don’t mean that they are wrong, I just mean that what they want is a pipe dream at the time. Before you get people to charge that effing hill behind you, You might want to lead them across a country road. It’s not like ‘pubs and “conservatives” have really been successful in either in recent times.

What is it about incomplete victories?

Posted by Wickedpinto on December 30, 2010

That makes some people overreach?

Some are calling for a complete defunding of obamacare, That is a bad idea.

Krauthammer is right.

That opinion by krauthammer isn’t him being a RINO, it is perfectly logical, and not in a cynical way.  He is suggesting that the House (1/2 of one branch of government) defund Obamacare, which is still law, just not payed for, which is constitutionally allowed, but ask yourselves.

If the ‘pubs ran the presidency, and the senate, and the house defunded the iraq war, what would we be saying?  We would be saying “1/2 of one branch of government has held an entire country hostage (we would have been talking about Iraq) to the Jihadi’s.”  Don’t say we wouldn’t, cuz I know damn well I would have.  There are other ways to change the status, more honorable less weasely ways.

Example: we can repeal obamacare, we fail?  Then we fight in the courts, cuz we aren’t gonna get jack from the executive.  That is an honest process.

Example: the “first gulf war” was a war from when it was declared, I forget, until early mid november of 1995, ask me how I know?  Because I was the last graduating class of the Marine Corps to have an ND, I didn’t earn it.  The congress was just too scared to stop calling it a war.

Example:  and I think this is the big one.  Did we stop allying ourselves with South Vietnam in foreign policy?  Nope we didn’t.  The Dems end arounded everyone, the president, and the people by defunding all assistance to our IN FACT ALLY in south vietnam, but the pres got the blame.  We should not forgive them their actions and we should not forgive their tactics by doing exactly what they did to all of us.

You take a stand?  Especially a losing one?  You take a LOUD one.  Though it’s a constitutional rule, It’s an underhanded technique.  The Congress hasn’t passed a budget in 4 years, but our priority will be to defund a still argued entitlement? That also, won’t take effect until next (aught 12 (I’m not letting go of the aughts) anyways?) year?

Krauthammer is right, pass repeal in the house, don’t defund, fight on budget, pass repeal, and then investigate obamacare as part of the budget.  He’s right, and getting on his crap as a cynical political strategist or a rino is wrong.

FDA Policy “Write a Shorter Bucket List.”

Posted by Wickedpinto on December 30, 2010

This Christmas, The Bucket List, was playing on TNT, and my brother bought it for my mother on Blue Ray.  It’s a great movie, if you haven’t seen it, do so, but do it around a chick so they can see how sensitive you are.

The FDA basically dumped Avastin from approved drugs based upon arbitrary rules.  This is floating around with the DeathPanel statement.  I don’t have a whole hell of a lot of accomplishments, but if I could get an extra few months to visit and join with my loved ones, and make what small preparations are necessary without being incapacitated with illness?  I’ll FUCKING DO IT!

I’ll Sell everything I own, I will mortgage ever piece of value I maintain, I do NOT want to leave this world without letting everyone I love know that I love them, and know that my passing would be as streamlined as possible to minimize any additional conflict with others.  Who the FUCK! is the FDA, some BUREAUCRAT! to tell me what I can do with what is left of my soon to be carcass.  One that I would like to maintain just long enough to make preparations in such a way that minimizes the damage to my family and friends?  Or!  MAYBE! Hold onto just long enough for there to be a cure?

Dissolve the regulatory arm of the FDA, they should just be a research arm of the government.  “We don’t recommend avastin, but we can’t outlaw it.”  That alone is bad enough, but a whole hell of a lot better than this Bullshit!

(I’ve been avoiding foul language but sometimes, you get pizzed, it just happens.)

Merry Christmas

Posted by Wickedpinto on December 25, 2010

I have no gift to give, other than a stupid joke “Giftwrap is lingerie for presents, it’s what you put on, just long enough to be taken off.”

Other than that here is an image of a gift that is granted us by the efforts of those who protect us.

Brave Men and Women who keep us all safe, in the face of horror.

“Where do we find these people?”

We are lucky that we find them, Thank you Santa for giving us strong people who protect us.

Charlie Brown Christmas

Posted by Wickedpinto on December 25, 2010

I wouldn’t have included this, cuz the moronogod and his acolytes tend to put this up every year, as do others, but I just noticed something.

Watch the blanket,  If you ever watched the various charlie brown shows and remember them, Watch the Blanket.

It JUST registered with me, that linus released his blanket, and I started going all analytical on it.  Linus, IN ALL THE SHOWS I’VE SEEN, NEVER let go of his blanket, but when he is talking about his savior, he finds enough comfort to release his blanket.

I don’t think I’m misinterpreting that because there is a somewhat prolonged portion of the vid, where he deliberately leans over, and picks up his security blanket, and then sticks his thumb in his mouth.

He is only as secure as he is with his blanket when he is remembering His Christ, and the birth of HIM.  Also notice EXACTLY when he releases the blanket.  He no longer needs the comfort AS SOON as he is describing the christs birth.  Again, I don’t think it’s coincidence, I think it was deliberate imagery.  I don’t look at things through a religious tint, but since this has a religious tint, It tickled at me, and I saw the imagery.

Am I seeing things that aren’t there?  as I said, I don’t remember, EVER Linus releasing his blanket. That is the only example I can think of.  I wasn’t a FAN, but I always watched charlie brown when it was on, but I’m fairly sure that is the only time he let go of that blanket.

A moment of simple logic.

Posted by Wickedpinto on December 21, 2010

chris brown, after brutalizing his girlfriend, completed his domestic violence course.

I know, I’m single, no prospects, I’m not a major catch as many would think, hell, If I was returned to the water after being caught would be remarkable, some might prefer to watch my drown in open air.

HOWEVER! I have some advice as to how one should run a “domestic violence cource.” I could run a one day course, I will take whatever fee Chris Brown paid.

Here is lesson one:
Lesson two:
Lesson three:
Lesson four:

I see this crap all the time, and I’m amazed that there is noone to blame but themselves, yet there is such a thing as domestic abuse training? Just Effing stupid.

In fact you know what is easier? If you ever feel the urge to punch someone half your mass in the face several times, enough to create a media sensation? She’s not the girl for you.

Which is more difficult? harming another person, possibly facing jailtime, being forced to a class so you can get a Diploma (read the article, they effing gave him an effing Diploma, after learning that hitting a woman half his mass in the face several times, yes a diploma. Know what I don’t have? A Diploma, maybe I should beat a woman, this world is ridiculous.) or going “You know? this just isn’t working out we shouldn’t see each other anymore.”

Which Is the more reasonable course of action? Chris Brown School, “Beat your bitch till you face charges, and an expensive defense, and a bullshit diploma to subsidize womans studies majors.”

The Wickedpinto method, “just plain break up with her, be honest, accept the vocal argument and then move on, without committing something that (depending on the environment) could be a felony?”

I’m biased, but I go with my method of how to handle domestic violence. Don’t get domestic with someone you or they want to get violent with.

Maybe, “The Dong Thong.” or “The Cock Blocker.” It’s just that codpiece makes me think of blacky lawless, and unless there are sparks shooting out of it, I’m disappointed.

DADT Repealed

Posted by Wickedpinto on December 19, 2010

The net effect? Not a damn thing. It was a stupid piece of legislation now that accomplished nothing other than creating a lightning rod. With it’s repeal not a damn thing changed, It’s just that congress is out of the way, and IN FACT allows the military to be MORE discriminatory if they chose.

People forget, DADT was actually a legislative stop gap AGAINST anti-gay policy practice in the military. Personally I don’t think DADT was constitutional Don’t see how it’s at all appropriate in the first place, but with it’s repeal people can feel good, until they realize that DADT’s repeal actually opens the door to REAL witch hunts.

But la la lalalalala live for today idiots.

Most insignificant legislative “victory” for the left ever. I think the ‘pub’s who supported the repeal are of my thinking knowing good and goddamn well that the repeal actually gives MORE authority to the military hierarchy, and not less.

Update: I always try avoid legal statements, cuz I’m not a lawyer, I let that one slip out, but being an idiot is something I do sometimes, just adjusted the statement with a del

200 million buck heiress and maybe 3 thoughts rubing together.

Posted by Wickedpinto on December 16, 2010

Meghan McCain, she the queen of true conservatism, wrote this piece of crap, and apparently got paid for it.

It opens in first paragraph,

I was one of the people on Time’s panel to nominate and argue over who was most deserving of the title. My two choices were the Tea Party and Mark Zuckerberg. The Time panel consisted of myself, Joe Trippi, Google’s Marissa Miller (who petitioned hard for Steve Jobs to be considered for Person of the Year), Wyclef Jean, and the executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement Daisy Khan.

So right there, 1/5 of the article is about how important she was with the other brilliant minds that chose the person of the year.  Lets go through the List.

Meghan = Accomplished nothing.

Joe Trippi = failed election effort as campaign adviser for Howard Dean.

The non partisan google participant.  (that is half hearted sarcasm, since I don’t know Millers politics.)

Wycleaf Jean who was supposedly having an affair with a woman who would rather have her baby starve than let it be cared for by white people.

Steve Jobbs, who is an EXCELLENT exec, but a lot of it is because he’s a Tyrant, watch the Docu on NeXT computers.  He made arbitrary demands and everyone tells him it’s impossible, but he demands it while lying to investors.

and. . .

Meghan made a point of including DAISY EFFING KHAN! in the list.  Does this woman understand anything?  Daisy Effing KHAN!?  The wife of the guy who thinks that opposition to the ground Zero Mosque is racist?  The woman who said that Islam is MORE for womens freedom than the west?  THAT Daisy Effing Khan?

Maybe if Meghan owned one of those things that Steve Jobs friend Steve Wozniak designed, Steve Jobs sold, Mark Zuckerberg capitalized on for his person of the year award, Trippi used to increase fundraising for Howard Dean Meghan might have realized how superficial and vacant her friggen “Collumn” was.

In fact, If Meghan had gotten on one of those new fangled things Steve Jobs helped popularize, and visited the location of Marissa Millers millions (google, but I suggest everyone use bing, google is fascist.) she might have found out about Daisy Khan, OR!  Looked up the definition of “Poignant.”

Only definition that MIGHT apply is:

2. sharply perceptive: particularly penetrating and effective or relevant ( literary )

Which I don’t think applies.  To be sharply perceptive, you have to be at the leading edge, Facebook has been a force for YEARS, it’s not new, not this year, but maybe it’s just meghans misfortune that she only learned about it this year after watching the movie.

I also enjoy this Jewel of rhetorical genius.

Mark Zuckerberg has become the first true millenial rockstar, and he is ushering in a completely new era.

Go to the “collumn” for a pick of the “rockstar,” and watch the movie, read interviews about what a pleasant and engaging guy the freckled ginger is.  Thanks Maggy, you paint word pictures with the skill and realism of salvadore dali having a seizer at the end of a coke binge.  (don’t worry Maggy, you can look all of those things up on Wikipedia, Maybe you can vote for wikipedia next year, you rockstar.)

Here she uses one of the most INFURIATING rhetorical devices I see self absorbed, pompous privileged pieces of crap use.

He transcends all of these people and, dare I say, even countries because all of these subjects are more than likely to be read about, discussed, and debated via users on—where else?—Facebook.

How BOLD!  You DARE to Say that!   The Courage, the insight, the value, the willingness to protect principles.  I cannot Believed that you Dare said that maggy.  It’s almost as though you were writing about yourself and not about the (supposed) subject of the article.  I mean, I wouldn’t know a GODDAMN THING about Zuckerberg If it wasn’t for your DARING to say that.  Hell, I never would have known what Apple, Google, Facebook, The Ground Zero Victory Mosque, how democrats manipulate online donations to give false impressions of small contributions, or the fugee’s were, If not for your daring do!

Thank You great noble semi-literate trust fund idiot for your grand insight.

Great job, while you are at it, who do you recommend for pres in 2012?  Just so that I can study up and school all those fools (called the entire populace) who laugh at you, those filthy blue-bloods.

The Presidential Handoff Thing

Posted by Wickedpinto on December 11, 2010

Other than the strangeness of it, I’m not gonna try to break anything down, but I found Neo-Neocon doing a bit of analysis that has an interesting take.

In addition to the previously-mentioned messages, it conveys an inappropriately arrogant disregard for the public that he attempts to clothe in casualness, and is an indication that he simply doesn’t know what appropriate behavior is, or doesn’t care.”

I didn’t think of it that way, but it makes sense.  This is a guy who’s supposed to present leadership, and part of that leadership is to offer your followers the right visuals to maintain morale and faith.  And He did fail in that with that imagery.

Of course, I doubt anyone reading here expected anything much from the guy anyways, but the insouciant walk off when he got bored definitely shows that he doesn’t have the same amount of courtesy for the American people as a gradeschool teacher.

McCaskill accuses Republicans of dismissing Tea Partiers

Posted by Viv on December 6, 2010

Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) dressed down Republicans for insisting on keeping the current tax rates on those who make a million dollars or more a year. In her statements (video here) along with other fellow Democrats, she used class warfare techniques to create strife between the Republicans and those who identify themselves as Tea Partiers.

Sen. Claire McCaskill wants to know if the tea party is listening to Republicans, and vice versa.

Amid the posturing and hard bargaining in Washington over extending tax cuts, McCaskill, D-Mo., said this afternoon that if Republicans sacrifice the middle class in order to protect the wealthy “it really is time for people in America to take up pitchforks.”

“And all those people out there in the tea party that are angry about the economics of Washington, they really need to look at this. When you pull back the curtain (you) realize that you’ve got a Republican Party that’s not worried about the people in the tea party,” she said.

“They’re worried about the people who can’t decide which home to go to over the Christmas holidays. They’re worried about the people who might take a jaunt to Europe for the new year. They’re not worried about those people who are packing those town halls, because those folks are the middle class,” she said.

Here are a few questions for Senator McCaskill.

  • What polling has she done that states that those who associate with the Tea Party groups, are in favor of raising taxes on those who make $250K or more a year?
  • When did she side with and defend the Tea Party members and their views during the health care forums and town hall meetings?
  • Does she think the Tea Party people aren’t capable of deciding whether or not the Republicans are with them or against them?
  • Did she admonish the media and colleagues for calling the middle class audience at these forums “tea baggers”?
  • When did millionaire become a bad word? And how many millionaires did she take campaign donations from?

Perhaps she should refresh her memory on what she said about the Tea Party protests and questions at her town hall meetings. I doubt Tea Partiers need a lecture on how to hold the feet of an elected official to the fire. A few searches on YouTube demonstrate that she isn’t so tolerant of the Tea Party views but she sure got her ear full of them.

McCaskill was told she couldn’t be trusted by the audience.
McCaskill will listen to Tea Party members in her audience but would rather reach out to people who haven’t already made up their mind about health care reform. She thinks Tea Party members don’t listen.
Senator McCaskill sends representatives to listen to Tea Party concerns instead of listening to them herself.

Look out. McCaskill has a Republican opponent, Sarah Steelman, in 2012. I’m sure Steelman and her Missouri supporters will be happy to dismiss McCaskill.
